Tennis News: Prajnesh Gunneswaran’s run at Indian Wells ends

India's top singles player Prajnesh Gunneswaran's impressive run at Indian Wells came to an end after he went down to Ivo Karlovic in the third round early in the day. Prajnesh lost to the Croatian big server Karlovic 3-6 6-7(4) in one hour and 13-minutes. After making his main draw debut at the first ATP Masters 1000 event of the year, the Chennai lad enjoyed wins over Benoit Paire and Nikoloz Basilashvili in the previous rounds. The 29-year-old is currently ranked no.97 in the world and following his successful run at Indian Wells, his ranking is likely to go up further. Meanwhile, World No.3 Alexander Zverev lost in the third round to fellow German Jan-Lennard Struff in straight sets. Also, World No.1 Novak Djokovic's third round match against Phillip Kohlschreiber has been suspended due to rain.
