Table Tennis News: Achanta optimistic about India’s chances in Tokyo

India's top paddler Achanta Sharath Kamal, who recently created history by winning record-breaking ninth national Table Tennis title is super positive about the prospect of the sport in our country. The World No.30 is optimistic about India's chances in the 2020 Olympics also and even pinned hopes on the young brigade. Even at 36, Kamal is still among the best in India, ranking second in the country and 33rd in the world. After a highly successful 2018, Sharath Kamal received the Padma Shri award this year. In fact, 2018 turned out to be breakthrough year for Indian table tennis, with the country winning eight medals, including three gold, at the Commonwealth Games and two bronze medals in the Asian Games. Kamal is happy that Indian table tennis has started getting the attention it deserves.
