News : Why is IOA ‘threatening’ RFI?

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has threatened to take over the Rowing Federation of India (RFI) after they subjected to their voting pattern and for not following the sports code. In the last RFI elections, three councillors per member had been allowed to cast votes instead of the permissible two, while proxy voting too had been allowed. In a letter that was sent by the Secretary General of the IOA Rajeev Mehta to the RFI, he mentioned that the federation need not conduct new elections as the IOA is planning to form a new ad-hoc committee to look after its affairs.
