News : Sumit Nagal wins Nord Open tournament in Germany

Rising Indian tennis star Sumit Nagal has become the first Indian to win an international tournament in the COVID-19 era after winning the PSD Bank Nord Open trophy, a locally organised clay-court tournament in Germany. Nagal is currently India's highest-ranked singles player at 127 defeated second seed German Daniel Masur 6-1, 6-3 in the final match at the tournament held at the Pinneberg tennis club, two hours away from his home in Peine. The highest-ranked Indian singles player Sumit Nagal last played a competitive match in early March during the Davis Cup reverse singles against Croatia's Marin Cilic. And this win is going to give him a huge confidence booster.
