Hockey News: Indian Eves hold England to 1-1 DRAW

India held World Number Two England 1-1 in their opening match of the women's hockey World Cup in London. In the Pool B encounter, Neha Goyal gave India the lead in the 25th minute before Lily Owsley equalised from a penalty corner in the 54th minute for the hosts. India will play Ireland in their next Pool B match on Thursday. It will be followed by the pool fixture against the United States on July 29. A total of 16 teams, divided into four groups, are taking part in the tournament. The Netherlands who are the defending champions, are in Group-A with South Korea, Italy and China. Group B comprises- Ireland, England, India and United states. Group-C comprises Argentina, Germany, Spain and South Africa, while Pool-D features Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Belgium.
