Football News: No La Liga for Indian football fans?

The Indian subcontinent fans of La Liga can only see their beloved stars only on Facebook, not on the Television sets as the Spanish League has agreed a three-year contract with Facebook to show the matches. This is Facebook's first live streaming deal in the Indian subcontinent. Valued at 25 million dollars, the deal is learnt to be a part of Facebook's entire southeast Asian bid, said to be in excess of 100 million dollars. This is happening for the very first time in the history of football that a major football league has taken the decision to right off the television rights in order to set a new partnership, the social media site. From the perspective of doing the complete digitization of sports, it is looking like a good decision. On the other hand, this step can hurt the rural following of the game which is equally important as the urban.
