Football News: Netherlands thrash Germany 3-0 in UNL

The abysmal 2018 turned abominable for Germany as the Netherlands thrashed the 2014 World Cup winners 3-0 in the UEFA Nations League. Liverpool’s defensive backbone Virgil van Dijk scored the first goal for the Dutch side in the 30th minute of the match with the help of a rebounded header. Substitute Julian Draxler showed the only sparkle from the end of the 1990 FIFA World Cup winners but failed to convert the chances. Just like PSG’s Draxler, Man United flop Memphis Depay had too many opportunities before converting the scoresheet 2-0 for the home side in the 87th minute. In the end, Liverpool’s Jini Wild almond added the final hit of the encounter during the injury time to give the unsettled Ronald Koeman's side a hope to shine. With the assistant of this defeat, Germany placed themselves at the bottom of the Nations League Group A1.
