India, who produced a great game of football in their opening AFC Asian Cup match versus Thailand, played a 1-1 with Syria to end their venture in the Intercontinental Cup on a little fine note. India lost their first two matches against Tajikistan and North Korea but managed to draw their final game against the higher-ranked Syria, who also failed to reach the final of the competition.
