Football News: India aim to continue winning momentum in the SAFF Championship

The Indian Women’s football team start their SAFF championship campaign on a winning note as they thrashed the Maldives by 6-0 in their opening group game. The star of the first game was Sanju Yadav who grabbed a brace along with Dangmei Grace, Sandhiya Ranganathan , Indumathi Kathiresan 22, Sanju Yadav and Ratanbala Devi adding one goal each. The 6-0 win against Maldives sees India extend its unbeaten run at the SAFF Championships to 20 matches.The Indian women go into the encounter after a three-day break, and head coach Maymol Rocky feels her wards have ‘fully recovered’ and ‘eager to head into the battle’ as they look to continue their winning momentum.
