Cricket News: Saurashtra pull off highest chase in Ranji Trophy history

Harvik Desai's maiden first-class century and half centuries from Snell Patel, Sheldon Jackson and Cheteshwar Pujara helped Saurashtra pull off the highest successful run chase in the history of Ranji Trophy as they chase down 372 run target with the loss of four wickets against Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow. Saurashtra broke the previous record of 371 runs set by Assam against Services in the 2008-09 season. Pujara who had struggled in the first innings was solid in defence and authoritative in his shot-making in the second, mostly flicking off his pads or steering past gully as he and Jackson took Saurashtra to the semi-final where they will face Karnataka. In another match defending champions Vidarbha beat Uttarakhand by an innings and 115 runs and will now take on Kerala on January 24 in the semi-final.
