Cricket News: IPL 2020 - Hyderabad humiliate Delhi by 88 runs

Hyderabad outplayed Delhi in all three departments of the game beating them by 88 runs to keep their play-offs hopes alive. Birthday boy and captain David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha gave Hyderabad a flying start scoring 77 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket. Warner opened the innings with a new opening partner Wriddhiman Saha who made the most of the opportunity and finished as the top-scorer for Hyderabad with 87 off just 45 balls. Warner took on Delhi's most lethal bowler and tournament's leading wicket-taker collecting 22 runs off his one over and bringing up his half-century off just 25 balls. After Warner's dismissal Manish Pandey joined Saha and scored 31-ball 44. Chasing a massive 220-run target, Delhi got off to a worst possible start losing in-form opener Shikhar Dhawan without troubling the scorers in the first over. Marcus Stoinis promoted up the order also departed cheaply. Rishabh Pant held crease for a while but failed to make an impact and was eventually dismissed by Sandeep Sharma after scoring 36 off 35 balls. Rashid Khan wreaked havoc with the ball picking up 3 wickets for 7 runs in 4 overs. With this win Hyderabad has moved up to 6th spot in IPL points table while Delhi has slipped to 3rd spot.
