Cricket News: 2 arrested for attack on DDCA chief selector Amit Bhandari

Acting on complaints received from the DDCA president Rajat Sharma and chairman of the senior selection committee DDCA Amit Bhandari, the Delhi police has arrested the disgruntled Under-23 player Anuj Dedha and his brother Naveen from their hideout for allegedly assaulting Amit Bhandari who is also a former India player. The incident occurred around 1.30 p.m. at the St. Stephen's Ground in north Delhi where the trials of the Under-23 team were going on. The attackers were suspected to be U-23 aspirants who reportedly were not selected in the team. Bhandari was attacked with iron rods and hockey sticks at the trials before being rushed to a hospital by his co-selector Sukhvinder Singh. The goons fled the spot before the police could arrive.
