Basketball News: Indian Women’s basketball team to face Japan in Pre-Olympic qualifiers

The Indian women’s team has made the cut for the FIBA Pre-Qualifying Olympic event despite finishing last in the ongoing Asia Cup. The news comes after the international basketball federation decided to include India in the qualifiers due to unavailability of a host for Division-B matches. The eight teams (including the four Group A countries - China, Philippines, New Zealand, and Korea) will fight for four qualifying spots at the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which is set to take place in February 2020.
