Badminton News: Srikanth advances, PV Sindhu crashes out of Malaysia Open

India had a mixed day at the Malaysia Open today as Kidambi Srikanth secured a 21-11, 21-15 win over Thailand's Khosit Petpradab to enter the last-eight of the tournament, P. V. Sindhu, on the other hand, crashed out with a straight-game defeat to Sung Ji Hyun in the second round. She lost 18-21, 7-21 in a match that lasted 43 minutes. After losing a closely-fought first game, Sindhu was cantered to defeat in the second, with Sung Ji, who had beaten the ace Indian shuttler at All England Championships, handing her a second straight loss. Sung Ji will play China's Chen Yufei in the quarterfinals.
