Badminton News: Saina falls to Tai Tzu Ying in the Denmark Open Final

Saina Nehwal displayed a spirit performance but went down fighting against world number one Tai Tzu Ying 21-13, 13-21, 21-6 in the final of the Denmark open. Saina who was playing her first Super Series final in two years after she won the Australian Open title failed to snap her losing streak against Tai despite putting up a valiant fight. The Indian shuttler last defeated Tai Tzu Ying in 2013 and since then the Chinese Taipei shuttler has been victorious in the last 11 matches between the two. The result might not have been in Saina’s favour but Tai Tzu Ying admitted she was made to work hard for her victory by Saina. Saina has now played 17 finals in the BWF World Tour and Superseries events. Among active women’s singles players only Tai Tzu Ying has played more at 25.
