Badminton News: BWF cancels India Open & Syed Modi tournament

Badminton World Federation has cancelled the India Open Super 500 and Syed Modi International Super 300 tournaments in its adjusted international calendar to salvage a season thrown in disarray by the COVID-19 pandemic. The India Open was originally scheduled in March and was to be held from December 8 to 13 in New Delhi and Syed Modi was slated for November 17 to 22 in Lucknow in the previously revised calendar. The Badminton Association of India has issued an official statement on the reasons for the cancellation. The ongoing COVID-19 situation had put a full stop on badminton events across the world since the last 6 months to ensure safety and health protocols with regard to Covid-19 were being followed.
