Tokyo Olympics : A disappointing day for India in Tokyo

India's Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Angad Vir Singh Bajwa fail to qualify for the men's skeet final. Angad Vir Singh Bajwa finished 18th with a score of 120 points while Mairaj Ahmad Khan finished 25th with a score of 117 points. In tennis India's Sumit Nagal ousted in the second round of the men's singles tennis event 2-6, 1-6 by world No. 2 Daniil Medvedev. India's tennis campaign in the Tokyo Olympics has come to an end with the ouster of Sumit Nagal. Indian team of Satwik- Chirag loses in straight games to top-ranked Indonesians 13-21, 12-21 in their second group game. The Indian duo has one win and one defeat so far in their group stage matches. South Korea beat the Indian men's team of Atanu Das, Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav 6-0 in straight sets to progress to the semifinals. Indians are knocked out of competition. The Indians won their first match against Kazakhstan 6-2 but lost the next match to the Koreans. Playing at his fourth Olympics, paddler Achanta Sharath Kamal won his men's singles match against Portugal's Tiago Apolonia 4-2. If Sharath wins the next match which is Round 3, then he will progress to the Round of 16. Paddler Sutirtha Mukherjee knocked out in straight games by Yu Fu of Portugal in Round 2 of women's singles. Sutirtha was no match to her Portuguese opponent losing 3-11 3-11 5-11 5-11. Fencer Bhavani Devi loses 7-15 against the world No. 3 Manon Brunet of France in Round of 32 of women's Sabre event. Bhavani Devi was off to a confident start on her Olympic debut as she demolished the challenge of Nadia Ben Azizi of Tunisia 15-3 by becoming the first Indian fencer to win a match at the Olympics but lost in the next match to world No. 3 Manon Brunet of France
