Cricket News : Australia 'adamant' on Malan review, as England trail by 58 runs

Marnus Labuschagne said his Australia team-mates were adamant that Dawid Malan should have been given out on day three of the first Ashes Test in Brisbane, but the England batter survived a review and was still at the crease at stumps as the tourists finished on 220 for 2 in their second innings.

Malan survived an appeal on 16 - Australia left to bemoan the lack of a Snickometer in Brisbane due to technical problems - and was 80 not out at stumps.

Captain Joe Root finished the day unbeaten on 86, but England are still 58 runs short of Australia's first innings total and the odds remain stacked against them heading into day four.
