Football News : Arsenal keen to sign Bayern Munich's Leroy Sane

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their attacking line after signing Gabriel Jesus. The Gunners are eager on adding more attacking threat to their roster.

With the likes of Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez addition in the Premier League, the London club wants build a competitive squad.

Leroy Sane, the winger for Bayern Munich, has reportedly been identified by Arsenal as the ideal Raphinha replacement. Along with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, the Gunners were one of several teams showing interest in Raphinha, a former attacker for Leeds United.

Brazil's national team player was expected to stay in the Premier League despite Barcelona's initial inability to meet Leeds' price demands. Raphinha's preferred destination, though, was Barcelona, who have finally officially announced the attacker's arrival at Camp Nou following a protracted transfer drama.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Sane's potential transfer from Arsenal has been the subject of "rumblings."

With Jacobs telling The Done Deal show:

"A move to La Liga could be more likely. I've not heard rumblings at the Chelsea end, I've actually heard more rumblings from Arsenal that this was a name being considered at the beginning of the window, but then they turned their attentions to Raphinha."

Before the transfer window closes, Arsenal are still reportedly looking for a new wide player. With recent acquisition Marquinhos perhaps going out on loan for the 2022-23 campaign, the Gunners will be looking to explore options in the transfer market.

Sane, who is rumoured to demand £59 million to leave the Allianz Arena in the current window, has also been linked to Real Madrid. However, after bringing in Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni, Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti does not see his team making any other acquisitions.

While at Manchester City, Sane collaborated with Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal. Moreover, the 26-year-old has praised the Spaniard's performance thus far at the Emirates.

Thus, the German international could make a move to the London club if a decent bid is placed by Arsenal.

The Mirror quotes Sane as saying.

"I can just say positive things about Mikel Arteta. Since we started working together, he helped me a lot on the pitch,"

"He tried to improve my football; he told me what I did good and what I did wrong, and he tried to work on it. Next to Pep [Guardiola], they both really helped me and improved me, to bring me to the next level."

Sane departed Man City to join Bayern in the summer of 2020, and in 89 appearances for Julian Nagelsmann's team, the Germany international has contributed 24 goals and 27 assists.

The attacker's contract at the Allianz Arena still has three years to run, but Bayern may be hesitant to permit another attacker to leave after approving Robert Lewandowski's departure for Barcelona.

Serge Gnabry, an ex-Arsenal teenager, was initially expected to return to the club from Bavaria, but he has signed a new long-term contract with Bayern that runs until 2026.
