Football News : Real Madrid reveals Marco Asensio asking price for this summer

According to reports, Real Madrid has informed Liverpool and Arsenal that Marco Asensio is up for sale this summer for a price ranging from €25M - €30M. During the 2021-22 season, the 26-year-old was a regular for Carlo Ancelotti's team.

He made 42 appearances across all competitions and chipped in with 12 goals and two assists for the Spanish giants. Asensio's present contract is set to expire in June of next year and he has been informed that the current Spanish & European champions would not offer extension.

Liverpool and Arsenal are both thought to be interested in signing the Spain international to the Premier League this summer. While the Italian club AC Milan is still said to have a serious interest in the Real Madrid player.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Real Madrid has notified potential buyers that Asensio's contract status makes him available for a price range of €25M - €30M. Since moving to Real Madrid from Mallorca in 2014, the attacker has made 235 appearances, totaling 49 goals and 24 assists.

Moreover, Asensio also helped Madrid in winning three La Liga championships and three Champions League trophies. Although Asensio has struggled to maintain consistency since sustaining a major knee injury during a preseason match with Arsenal in July 2019.

Thus, Los Blancos supposedly no longer see Asensio as necessary. Jorge Mendes, Asensio's agent, is reportedly lobbying for his client to leave Los Blancos, and Arsenal is said to be the front-runner to sign him.

Although the Reds are contemplating making a move before the end of the transfer window.
As Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also thought to be a fan of the Spaniard.

"Renew or leave Real Madrid? I think there are three possibilities, there is also the option to stay and fulfil my contract year,"

Asensio told Marca when recently questioned on his future.

"My future does not have to depend on whether or not I will have a place in the next World Cup. Rumours are part of football, and more so at Real Madrid. High-level players are always associated with it. Many players come out every summer and it's something we have to live with."
The attacker's World Cup berth with Spain in 2022 is uncertain, but he participated in their UEFA Nations League games in June, contributing assists in both of their games against the Czech Republic.

The Italian club would struggle to compete with the salaries that Arsenal and Liverpool might both offer the striker to move to England, despite the fact that Milan are also rumoured to be interested in the attacker.

Ajax attacker Antony has been linked to Manchester United in the past, and the Red Devils may see him as a less expensive alternative.
